Top 10 Cape Cod Locations for Stunning Senior Portraits
Top 10 Cape Cod Locations for Stunning Senior Portraits
Why Location Matters
Choosing the right location for your senior portraits sets the tone for your entire session. It’s more than just a backdrop — it’s a reflection of your personality, style, and story. As an added bonus, if two locations are close by we can include both! My philosophy? Natural beauty + timeless backdrops = unforgettable photos. Check out my absolute favorite spots…
1. Lighthouse Beach — Chatham
With its iconic lighthouse as a backdrop, Lighthouse Beach in Chatham offers a timeless, classic New England feel. The open beach, rolling dunes, and soft coastal light create a dreamy atmosphere for portraits. This location is perfect for seniors looking for a blend of elegance and natural beauty.
2. Bank Street Beach — Harwich
This serene spot in Harwich features wide sandy shores and gentle waves, making it ideal for relaxed, carefree portraits. I absolutely love the old feel Cape Cod fencing that’s fun to incorporate.
3. Cold Storage Beach — Dennis
This beach offers so much— a jetty, lifeguard stand, wide open ocean and dunes. Tucked away in Dennis, Cold Storage Beach offers a more private, intimate feel. It’s less crowded than larger beaches, so we’ll have plenty of space to create images that feel personal and unique.
4. Hardings Beach — Chatham
Hardings Beach offers a blend of wide-open sand, classic Cape Cod dunes, and stunning water views. This location is ideal for seniors who want a mix of natural backdrops for their session. The dunes provide texture and depth, while the calm waves offer a perfect place for natural, candid moments.
5. Dowses Beach — Osterville
One of my favorite spots because of the variety of backgrounds— the bay, boats, jettys, and beach grass.
6. Ridgevale Beach — Chatham
Ridgevale Beach is a beloved spot for its scenic marshes and charming footbridges, which create unique photo opportunities. The shallow inlets and soft sand add variety to the session, allowing for fun water shots and playful, interactive moments. If you’re looking for a playful, lighthearted vibe for your senior portraits, Ridgevale Beach delivers.
7. The Knob — Falmouth
The Knob is one of Cape Cod’s most iconic hidden gems. This secluded, rocky outcrop offers sweeping ocean views and dramatic natural backdrops. The winding trails leading to the overlook provide opportunities for dreamy walking shots, while the view at the top is nothing short of breathtaking. It’s a must-visit for seniors who want a sense of adventure and stunning coastal vibes in their portraits.
8. Sandy Neck Beach — Sandwich
Sandy Neck Beach in Sandwich is known for its rugged beauty and expansive shoreline. The rocky paths and rolling dunes give portraits a timeless, rustic feel. It’s a versatile spot for seniors who want a mix of dramatic landscapes and classic beach shots.
9. Crosby Landing Beach — Brewster
If you’re looking for a more intimate setting, Linnel Landing in Brewster is a fantastic option. It’s a smaller, quieter beach with calm bay waters, perfect for those reflective, peaceful shots. Low tide reveals beautiful sandbars, adding dimension to your portraits.
10. Your Home, Yard, or Private Beach — A Meaningful Option
Sometimes, the most personal and powerful portraits happen in a place that’s already special to you. Your home, yard, or private beach provides a setting that’s familiar, comfortable, and unique to your story. This option allows for complete customization and personal touches, ensuring that your senior portraits are one-of-a-kind.

Your senior portraits should reflect you — your style, your story, and your vision for this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
